THE PATEY CONCERTS.

A very good house again, and appreciative. Madame Patey of course was asked to repeat the grand aria “ 0 rest in the Lord,” and kindly repeated it. Benedict's “By the sad sea waves” was her second number; exceedingly well received it was, and she substituted the ever - popular “ Needles and Pina.” The third contribution was the famous old Scottish ballad of “Bonnie Doon,” followed (in response to the usual enthusiasm) by a perfectly marvellous rendering of “The minstrel boy,” the emphasis on the final “ slavery ” being a revelation of expressive power. Miss Rossow earned a recall by her rendering of “.Angela ever bright and fair,” repeating the grand air; she sang later Sullivan's “Let me dream again ” and Pinsnti’s “ Three wishes ” both in excellent style, bowing her acknowledgments in each case. Mr Jones had to repeat Morgan’s “My sweetheart when a boy,” and bowed his acknowledgment after Mendelssohn’s cavatina “ Be thou faithful.” Mies Wood’s three numbers— Gottsohalk’a "Tremolo.” A “Nocturne” and "Mazurka” of Chopin, and Kowalski’s Hungarian March (the last repeated) were ail excellent specimens of her finished style and fine technique. Mr Waters sang “The Grenadiers” and “Victoria.” The trio “I Navigautd ” and Braham’s old duet “All’s Well,” began and ended a fine programme. To-night Madame sings “There is a Green Hill Far Away.”
