The well-known hurdle horse Marksmar, by Southern Chief, winner of the double at Otaki a few weeks ago, says the Marton Mercury, was offered at auction yesterday at Bulls and withdrawn, the price wanted being L 270, He is to be nominated for the NewJZealand Grand National, and his owner thinks he will be somewhere about at the finish, that is if the handicapper does not pile the weight on too much.
