The Wanganui Meat Freezing Company’s works were formally opened this afternoon by Mr A. J. Parsons, J.P., and the Directors of the Freezing Company. A largo number of influential graziers were present at the ceremony. The machinery was set going, and the engine christened ” The Dnigan.” The works are now in full awing. A meeting was held to-night to discuss the formation of an Amateur Athletic Club for Wanganui, which it was decided to establish. Seventy members have already been enrolled, and the Clnb promises to be a decided success. An excellent running track near town baa been secured for the meetings. Invercargill, Juno 10.
