In the second attempt the pilot crew wore successful ™ rescuing the crew of the schooner Venus.
Brisbane, Juno 10. A gale of unprecedented violence swept over the city yesterday, causing considerable damage. The sea swept over the esplanade at Sandgate, flooding houses to the depth of a foot. Heavy rain fell over the colony generally. The Glanraire and Great Eastern Mines, at Gympie, were flooded, and 300 men rendered idle. (Received June 11, 12.45 a.m.) Sydney, Juno 10. The crews of the coasters which went ashore during the gale wore rescued.
The schoouer Bertha and ketches Jessie Sinclair and Sea Nymph, which are ashore at Trial Bay, are likely to be got off when the weather moderates, bub no hopes of floating the Georgina Davis are entertained.
