MADAME PATEY TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Adelaide, May 2.

An unusually large number o£ cable messages were sent under the reduced rates, which came into operation yesterday. The census shows the population of the city and suburbs to he 133,000. (Received Slay 4. 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, May 3.

Madame Patey, the celebrated contralto, intends to pay a visit to New Zealand, and leaves for Auckland on the 18th inst. in the R.M.S. Mariposa.
