The Rotorua arrived at 9 am yesterday from Picton and Nelson, and sails for the South at 3 pm to day. ._, The Kawatiri, coal laden, arrived from Greymouth at 3am yesterday, and returns to-day to Hokitika and Greymouth. The Rowena left at 3 pm yesterday for Timaru. The old steamer Hero, which is probably as ■well-known by old New Zealanders as any steamer trading here, has been sold by the Union Steam Ship Company to the Australian United Steam Navigation Company, who intend to convert her into a bulk. She is to be stationed at Noumea, for which port she left Sydney last week. The steamer Grafton arrives here this morning from Nelson and West Coast, and returns again at noon. The barque Glenlora, one of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's fleet, arrived off the Heads last evening from London, via Port Chalmers. The barque is in command of Captain Nicolo, latterly chief officer of the ship Westland, The Glenlora left Glasgow on December 23, and arrived at Port Chalmers after a smart passage of 83 days. Light and variable weather was experienced to the Equa* tor, which was crossed on January 15th. Sighted Gough Island on February Bth, and crossed tho Meridian of Greenwich on February 11th in lat 44deg 40min S. The first of the westerlies then set in, and she rounded the Capo of Good Hope on the 14th. Sighted Prince Edward Island on February 21, passed the Meridian of Cape Leuwin on March Bth in lat. 48deg 40min S. and Tasmania on March 15th, Sighted the Snares on the evening of the 18th, when a heavy N.W. gale set in, lasting for 12 hours, when it suddenly shifted to the S. W., blowing fresh until passing the Nuggets on the evening of the 19th. She ran her easting down between the parallels of 4Sdeg 20min to 48deg 50min S. The Glenlora loads here for London.
