The Australians won the cricket match against Warwickshire by 132 rons. Cricket in Samoa- —Cricket, which was Introduced in-Samoa a few years ago by some of the more energetic British residents, has now become a nuisance, owing to the manner in which it is played I y the Natives, It is no uncommon thing to see a game baiog played in which the- players number from 89 to 159 a side, and lasting for 19 days or a fortnight. The Natives have become so crazy over cricket that they neglect their food crops daring the whole of the season. The consequence is that during a great part of the year they are in a state of poverty. The King has stated that he will get an Act passed either entirely prohibiting or, at any rate, limiting the abuse of the game which at present exists.
