The Government received yesterday a cable message from the Agent-General to the following effect : —“The hemp market has a better tone. Fair to good, Auckland, £2l to £23 ; Lyttelton, £2O to £22 ; Wellington, £l9' to £2l ; prima sorts, £24 to £26. Manila is firm at £34 to £35 ; sisal is about £25.

Messrs Holmes and Bell, of Blenheim, report-‘‘Our London office cables under date of tiie 18th instant, ‘ Fair Wellington hemp is selling at £l9 10a to £2o.’ This is a fall of £2 on the quotations per cable dated 12th instant.”
