ACCIDENTS.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, April 21. A well-known jockey named James Carey was thrown from a horse on Sunday, on Panmure road, and when 'discovered was found to be unconscious, and suffering from a fracture of the skull, concussion of the brain, and a broken collarbone. The an. fortunate man was removed to the hospital, where he died to day. He leaves a widow and several children. A fisherman named Charles Johnston has been drowned by the upsetting of a boat near the Sandspit lighthouse, outside the harbour. The deceased, who was a Swede, leaves a wife and two obildren.
