PORT NICHOLSON YACHT CLUB.

Programme for Opening of the Season, Saturday, 24th November,

The following yachts will sail in the opening evolutions, and will form into two divisions in the following order :—_ Starboard division. Xarifa, Thetis, Zanthe, Silvery Wave, Dream, Iris, Vulcan, Naval Cutter, Dido, Ida, Ino, Wave, Vision, Muritai, lolanthe, Grace Darling, The other Boat, Poneke. Port division.—Florence, Isoa, Elaine, Pet, Greyhound, Red Jacket, Maia, Naval Cutter, Torpedo Cutter, Volante, Northumbria, Rewa; Foam, Mata, Oriental, Kestrel, Ruby, Erenora. Should any of the yachts be absept, those present will equalise the divisions. Squadron to rendevoua off the Queen’s and Railway Wharves at 2.45 p.m., and yachts to be ready to sail into their positions at 3 o’clock sharp, when the starting signal flag No. 1 will be hoisted by the Vice-Commodore on board the Xarifa. Port and Starboard divisions will keep at least 100yds apart, and each yacht a proper working distance from the one preceding her. Divisions must be particular, to keep a good line, and follow their leading yacht. In tacking, eaoh yaoht must go in stays as near as possible in the same water as the leading boat; . _ Special signals to be used by the- ViceCommodore on Saturday afternoon, the 24th November : ■

Signal flag No. 1 —Start away (at 3 o’clock) in proper order,* port division heading N.E. Signal flag No. 2—Bear-away, heading S.E. Signal flag No. 3—Haul your wind, heading S.E. Signal flag No. 4—Wear ship and stand in for wharves on starboard tack to wind-

ward of hulks. ' , Signal flag No. s—Go-about on port tick, and stand in for wharves, passing Astern of hulks.
