In the Appe *1 Court to-day judgment was given in the case of Gowland and Arnndale, an appeal against a Resident Magistrate’s judgment, that the appellant Gowland pay half the costs in an action brought by Arundale against the Public Works Department for cutting a dam at Patea. The appeal was dismissed. Mastef.ton, October 30.

Mr Pownall, solicitor, states that the result of the injury he received by a stone is less serious than was at, first supposed. He is now able to attend to business.
