Kauri Timber Company. George Holdship, Harvey Patterson, John Sharp, William Smith, George Napier Turner, William Harper, John Moodie, George Lush, George Shaw, Robert J. Harvey, George Hay Mann, Matthew Lang, Matthew Henry Davies, Edwin C. Elliott, John H. Patterson, Alexander Fraser Ross, Michael Willis Fergusson, David Blair, Charles F. Orr, and Thomas Christian ; and the following are the principal concerns which they have acquired, viz. : Auckland Timber Company, Limited,, including this Company’s Mills at Sydney, Auckland, Port Charles, Whangaroa, Mongonui, and Kennedy’s Bay, with rights to Forests and Freehold Lands in the immediate neighborhood. The Sydney property has an area of about five acres, with a valuable frontage to Sydney harbor, the mill and site being valued at the present time at £40,000. The Auckland mill site has also a large water frontage of greatly increasing value, and the milt is most complete and extensive, and is valued at £40,000. The Kauri Timber Company is to take over with these properties the steamers Terror, Yankee Doodle and Hokianga, and the schooners Mariner, Kauri, and Rata, and the whole of this Company’s assets and liabilities as a going concern. New Zealand Timber Compay, Limited, including mills at Auckland, Whangapoua (two miles), and Freeman’s Bay, with Freeholds, including lands believed to be auriferous. The cutters Fanny, Nellie, Gipsy, and the barges Progress and Waitemata, and several punts, boats, etc., are taken over by the Company. On the property there are three miles of tramway, with three locomotives, five trucks and gear. The Town Leaseholds ha<e valuable frontages to the main streets. This property is to be taken as a going concern from 31st December last. Union Steam Saw, Moulding, Sash, and Door Company, Limited, including large and valuable mills at Mechanics’ Bay, Auckland, Aratapu and Tairua, excepting only the premises in Melbourne. The Aratapu property has valuable berthing accommodation and all conveniences for shipping. A very large stock of timber is included, and to be taken at valuation. Various business contracts will also pass to the purchasers. The vending company pays all outgoings to 31st May, 1888. Kopurn Sawmill Company (Dr Campbell), Northern Wairoa river, Kaipara, including over 4000 acres Freehold and 40,000 acres Leasehold lands, with all water rights. Stock of timber to be taken on specified terms, and vessels, etc., at valua. tion. Mercury Bay Sawmill Company, Mercury Bay.—This property has wharfage accommodation capable of berthing three vessels at once. The Freehold and Leasehold Lands and all other assets to be taken over with liabilities as a going concern. Messrs David Blair and Son, of Hikutaia, Thames river, and Market, street, Melbourne, with forests, Freehold and Leasehold Lands, wharves, and booms, and their kauri timber and other New Zealand business as a going concern, without any charge for goodwill. This purchase includes the barques Grasamero and Killarney,’ and several boats, punts, and rafting, gear, but not Mr David Blair’s business in timbers not imported from New Zealand. Messrs. Blair and Son are bound by their agreement not to engage in business connected with kauri, or other New Zealand timber, for 10 years. Shortland SaWmilL* (Messrs', Stone and White).—-Mills at Auckland and Shortland. Business as' a going concern. The Auckland mill has good water frontage. There are over 29,000 acres of Leasehold Lands in this property. Messrs Jogger and Parker, —Mills at Whananaki and Oriwa and Forests at Makarau and Kaukapakapa. A tramway is laid from the bush to the Whananaki Mill. Messrs Shappe and Ansenne, Mercury Bay. —The Mill site has good wharf accommodation for two vessels drawing Bft of water. There is also a tramway with steel rails laid into the bush, with engine, trucks, &c., for hauling ; and the necessary dams, booms, &c., for working the bush. The whole is taken as a going concern. Mr Pierce Lanigan, Ngnnguru. —Including about 4000 acres of Freehold, and 6800 acres of Leasehold Lands. Vessels and stock of timber to be taken at a valuation. Onehunga Sawmill, Waitakarei (Mr F. P. Clarke).—The Mill is situated at . Onehunga, on the Manukau Harbor, well suited for the West Coast trade. The forest is about 20 miles from Auckland, and can be delivered from the mill to the Waitakarei Station of the Kaipara Railway, and thus at same cost at HelensTitle,- Auckland, and Onehunga. Mr John Wigmore, Whangaroa.—With over 13,000 acres of Freehold Land. Stock of timber to be taken at specified rates. Helensville Timber Company, Limited. —This Mill is on the bank of the Kaipara River, at Helensville. There are also Retail Yards at Mount Eden Railway Station, and at Christchurch, New Zealand, and at Railway-siding from the Mill to Auckland and Helensville Railway. Stock to be taken at valuation. Hokianga Sawmill Company Limited, including wharf 440 feet long, capable of berthing three vessels. Messrs Whitelaw and Day.—Sawmill at Hikurangi, Whangarei. There is three-quarters of a mile of Tramway on this property. Mr Henry Brett.—Over 4000 acres freehold land, with Tramways, etc.
