HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
An ordinary meeting of the Hospital Trustees was hold yesterday, there being present—Messrs E. H. Eraser (chairman), Gaby, Willeston, Luke, Kebbell, Allen, Banks, Taylor, and Br Newman, M. 11.11. A letter was received, stating that the amount in hand of the Queen’s fund could not be dt-voted to a fever ward, as the interest only could t o pledged. The House Committee’s report was rea 1 and adopted. Questions having arisen as to the power of the Trustees with respect to leases, it was decided to bring the matter before the .Supreme Court, with a view to obtaining a deiinite opinion. The Chairman and Dr Newman were appointed a committee to wait on the Colonial Secretary with a view to obtaining a Earliamentary title to certain lauds and to the site of the Hospital, It was decided to hold a special meeting on Thursday for the purpose of considering the estimate, &c , to be submitted to the Government. The delegates in connection with the appointment of a general secretary for various Charitable Aid Boards recommended that the Trustees should, if necessary, have a secretary and ofheer/of their own, pending the action of the Benevolent Trustees in the matter. This was adopted. The annual statement of visitors to the Hospital during the year showed the number to bo 10,617, and during thedast three months 4920. The “liquor bill’’showed that during the month 31 pints of malt liquors and spirits had been oousumtd by 11 patients.
