Major Dane to-night, at Theatre Royal, on “ The Great Naval Battles of the Rebellion.” F. Sidey and Co. sell to-day at their rooms, at 2 o'clock, furniture, register grates, drapery. G. Thomas and Co. sell to-morrow on premises, Sydney-street, at 1 o’clock, furniture, etc. Anniversary tea meeting at Wesley Schoolroom, Taranaki-street, at 6.30 this evening. Several notices relating to bankruptcies appear to-day. The steamer Napier is for charter for the Easter holidays. Tenders are invited by the Public Works Department for formation and permanentway, New River Contract, Grey-Hokitika railway, I'he Wellington Racing Club’s Autumn Meeting is advertised to-day. E. Reeves and Co. have-100 sacks rye-grass seed for sale. A resident governess is wanted for the country. Tenders close to-day at noon fsr earthworks at Plimmcrton, Wellington and Manawata Railway Company.
