(united press association.) Auckland, August 16. Mr S. S. Osborne addressed the electors at Onehunga last night, and received a vote of confidence. He is opposed to the present Government, and declared himself a Freetrader. The Hon J. A. Tole at Riohmond-road (Newton), and Mr J. A. Connell at Mount Roskill (Eden), each got a vote of thanks and confidence after public addresses last night. Christchurch, August 16. Mr H. Allwright addressed a meeting at Lyttelton last night. He declared himself an opponent of the present Government in their financial proposals. He was subjected to considerable interruption, but received a vote of thanks for his address. Cheers were given for Mr Joyce, who is opposing Mr Allwright. Mr James Macfarlane, of Achray, Amuri, is out for Cheviot, against Mr Lance.
