AN UNPOPULAR JUDGE.

The action of Judge Wilson in excluding the inhabitants of Taman ga from an excursion to White Island is condemned. On the arrival of the Clansman at Tauranga onSatnrday night, a number of people assembled on the beach near the wharf, and when the passengers disembarked set fire to a large pile of combustibles with an effigy of Judge Wilson on top. The police promptly interfered, and scattered the heap.
