The meeting of the Imperial Conference has been postponed for a fortnight, in order that the Victorian and New South Wales representatives may be present at the discussion of questions relating to the islands of the Pacific. Fergusson, Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, announced that negotiations were proceeding between the Imperial and United StatesGovernments relative to the Canadian fisheries disputes, and it was hoped that a friendly settlement would shortly be arrived at.
