FATAL ACCIDENTS.
Christchurch, November 12, Last night a young man named John Hawkina; was thrown from his horse Lower High-street, receiving injuries to his head, from which he died three hours after the accident.
An old resident of Oxford named Isaac Bryan met with an accident yesterday while felling a tree, and died to-day, Hia chest was crushed by a falling branch. Feilding, November 10,
John Derby, settlor of Bunnythorpe, was killed at 9 this morning in Mansion’s sections, Taonui-road, by the falling of a tree. Palmerston North, November 22. An accident, with fatal results, happened in Palmerston on Saturday evening, to a man named John Fagan, a farmer, residing at Sandou. He was mounting a youuglhorae, and having a short rein on one side, the horse went sideways, with the result that it crossed its legs and fell over on top of Fagan, who received a fracture of the base of the skull, and died shortly after. At the inquest to-day a verdict of accidental death was returned. The deceased leaves a wife and family of five children. Auckland, November 23. A man named Robert Rosa was killed by a fall of earth on road work at Kawakawa. Auckland, November 23. A Maori boy named Taae was killed at Aratapu. Though warned, he climbed a tree and fell. Dunedin, November 24, A young man named George Webster, of Waitahuaa, was drowned while bathing.
