FIRES IN CANTERBURY.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, December 1. This morning a saddler's shop at Lincoln, belonging to Mr J. F. Finn, was burned down. It was Insured for £250 in the Fhcenix office. The canse of the fire is unknown.

On Saturday evening a seven-roomed house at Springston, belonging to Mrs Mary Elizabeth Smith, was destroyed by firo. It was insured for. £275 in the Royal office. The furniture, whioh was destroyed, was insured for £2OO in the Equitable.
