CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER.

(united press association.) Hawera, November 24.

The case against J. D, M’Lcan, who is charged with being in possession of a gun with unlawful intent, has assumed a new form. The charge now is for attempt to murder Frederick Iredalo. At the Court this morning the evidence showed that M’Lean fired at Iradale when CO yards off him, but missed. The cross-examination of the prosecutor baa not yet been entered upon, but it is understood that the reason alleged by the prisoner for his action is that Iredale seduced bis wife. Iredale denies that he did so.
