Ross, M.H.R., Messrs Carter, Pope, and Spragg. Lyttelton, May 10. Sailed—Mahinapua, for North ; Wanaka, for Dunedin: Go-Ahead, for Picton; Wakatu, for Kaikoura and Wellington; Norman McLeod, barque, for London. A signal for rating chronometers will he given at noon to-day at the Museum, the Telegraph Office, and Mr Littlejohn’s. A chronometer true on Greenwich time would show 12h. 30ra. at the signal. Any difference is error, plus or minus, of the chronometer. The U.S.S. Co’s ss Moa sailed yesterday morning for Westport. The U.S.S. Go’s ss Hawea took her departure yesterday at 2 pm for Picton and Nelson. The U.S.S. Go’s ss Grafton arrived here early yesterday morning from West Coast porta. She sailed again for the West Coast during the day. The U.S.S. Go’s ss Rotorua arrived yesterday afternoon. She left at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, and arrived at New Plymouth at IX on Sunday night; stopped an hour and a half to discharge her cargo, and came on to Wellington, arriving here at 3.30. The Rotorua brought down the inward San Francisco mail. She sailed for Picton and Nelson at midnight. The U.S.S. Go’s ss Manawatu took her departure for Westport at 5 o’clock last evening. L/aptain Thomas McGee (late of the Union Steamship Company’s steamship Waihora) has been appointed to the command of the steamship Triumph. This vessel is to bo again put into commission, and will come from Sydney to New Zealand ports, and then take a number of horses to Calcutta, From there she is to proceed to London, and there load general cargo back to New Zealand ports. The as Waverley, from Picton and Patea, arrived alongside the Queen’s Wharf at 5 p.m. yesterday. The Waverley returns to Patea at 4 o’clock to-day. The ss Stormbird sailed early this morning for Wanganui and Picton. The B.C. Go’s ss Maori left the wharf at 9 sharp last night for Greymouth. The steamers Hauraki and Mohaka sailed last night, the former for Foxton and the latter for Blenheim. The ss Tui took her departure for Foxton at 9 o’clock last night. ARRIVAL OF THE JAPANESE MAN-OF-WAR TSUKUBA. The Japanese training ship of war.jTsukuba, in command of Captain Tukushima, made the harbor last evening from Sydney, having lefc that port on the 27th April. This is not the first visit of the Tsukuba to New Zealand shores, she having been in Auckland some time ago. The Tsukuba is, _we believe, the only war vessel at present flying the colors of His Imperial Majesty the Mikado of Japan in the Australasian station. THE TAINUP3 VOYAGE. (UNITED press association. ) Auckland, May 10. The Tainui brings 16 saloon, 22 second-class, and 114 steerage passengers. The actual steaming time was 41d Bhr 12min, and the lose of time Id 7hr 23min by stoppages on the route. Among the passengers were Mr C. Talbot, the new British Consul at Tahiti, and Mr Bryce, late Native Minister. Me returns in good health, and was welcomed by Messrs I’. Mitchelson, Peacock, and Moss, M.H.R.’s, Sir F. Whitaker, and other friends.
