In the Legislative Assembly last night, Sir Henry Parkes moved that the Budget proposals of the Government do not meet the approval of the House. ' Melboukne, May 7. The latest accounts of the health of Judge Molesworth state that he is improving satisfactorily. The rifle team which is to represent Victoria at Wimbledon leaves on the 14th of May. The Government have received a telegram from the Agent-General in London confirming the conclusion of an Anglo-German convention on the Pacific question. Sydney, May 7.
The no confidence motion introduced by Sir Henry Parkes yesterday regarding the Treasurer’s Budget proposals will be discussed on Tuesday nest.
The Orient Company’s R.M.S. Chimborazo, which was ordered into quarantine on April 23rd, owing to an outbreak of smallpox occurring on her passage out, was released to-day. New Zealand wheat, 4s 2d per bushel; New Zealand oats 2s 4d; maize, per 561 b, 3s 4d; sugar, unchanged.
