LABOUR RIOTS IN AMERICA.
By Electric Telegraph Copyright, (ekdtbb’s telegrams.) New Yoke, May 4. The laboring classes in the United States hare commenced an agitation for the initiation of the eight hours’ movement, and strikes extending over a widespread area hare resulted in consequence. At Chicago a serious riot took place yesterday, resulting in the loss of several lives. It is alleged that the outbreak was instigated by a foreign Socialist organisation. Disturbances of a more or less serious nature are reported from several industrial centres.
