A haat of the Wellington Rowing Cluj) - ? trial fours will fee decided this evening, , McGrath’s crew meeting J. W. Rickman'?. • The following will represent the Wellington Rowing Clnb at the Star Boating Club’s regatta” to be held on the 17th of next month : Junior Imfgged Roars—G. Cummins, bow j G. E. Wylde, 2; G. B. Robinson, 3 ; J. \y Rickman, stroke. The two undermentioned crews will row to decide which is to represent the Clnb in the Maiden Challenge Roars at the regatta':—J, Bennett, bow ; P. T. Bacon, 2 ; J, K. Tripe, 3; J- Bryan, stroke; and G. F. McLean, bow ; B C. Sim, 2J W. Beck, 3 j H. Ward, stroke. The senior crew will be picked shortly.
On Saturday last the only event was the final paddling handicap of the Tainui Canoe Club. The starters were Harper, scratch ; Williams and Craig, 40?ec ; O. Fitz Gerald, 2min 40sec ; Botbamley, Smin 25sec, an 4 W, Fitz Gerald, 3 min SOaec.’ Tpa'conrse was from Burps’ shod, round a buoy off the Queen’s and back. There was a fresh northerly wipd and'a lumps sea, which made raping difficult work for the light panose. On thp run down, Bothamjey got away from W, Fitz Gerald, and Craig from Williams, but both these positions were reversed coming back against the sea. The fast light canoes were unable to concede the handicaps, which they bad given before in light weather, and the cruisers were never caught. W, Fitz Gerald-was firsf’ (5 points), Bsec ahead of Botbamley (3 points)/- with <X Fitz Gerald 4 seconds later (1 point). Williams, Craig, and Harper finished in tbs order named. Mr Harper wins the series of 3 handicaps with 8 points, a first and second ; W. Fitz Gerald is next with 6 pointy a first and third; and Craig, third, 5 points, with one first; Botbamley and Fell, 8 each ; Butte and O. Fitz Gerald, 1 each. This we understand is ths last Club race before the annual regatta, which will be held oh the 13th March next,
