Bluff, June 1, The Union Steamship Company’s steamer Waihora, Captain Edi«, left Melbourne on the 27th at 4 pm, cleared Port Philip Heads at 6.15 pm, passed Swan Island at 11.15 am on the 28th, arrived at Hobart at 4.30 am on the 29th j sailed at 2 pm, passed Cape PUlat at 6.30 pm, breasted Solandera at 11.15 am on the Ist, and arrived at the Bluff at 4.30 pm. She experienced variable strong winds and heavy sea from Hobart. Passengers for Wellington— Mesdamea Murdoch, Goodrich,. Miss Varley, Messrs Shannon and Vickers. A signal for rating chronometers will be given at noon to-day, at the Museum, the Telegraph Office, and at Mr Littlejohn’s. A chronometer true on Greenwich time would show 12h. 30m. at the signal. Any difference is error, plus or minus, of the chronometer. The Union Steamship, Company’s steamer Hawea left Lyttelton at 0.30 pm on Sunday, and arrived here at 3.30 am yesterday. She Bailed for Picton and Nelson at noon. The barque Sophia R. Luhrs for Newcastle was towed out to sea at noon yesterday by the 63 Mawhera, The- departure of the steamers Janet Nicoll lor South ; Jane Douglas, for Foxton ; and Kiwi for Castle X k oint and Napier, has been postponed until to-day.
