MR DODSON AT BLENHEIM.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Blenheim, May 30. Mr Dodson, M.H.R., addressed a meeting o£ his constituents last night. He avowed himself a supporter of Major Atkinson, bat said he would give the measures of the present Ministry careful consideration. He considered the position of an independent member the best for a constituency like the Wairau. He strongly condemned Sir Julius Vogel's financial policy, but approved Mr Baltance's land and Native schemes. He.considered a land tax not de liable in a young country ; bat hb might reconsider his opinion. At present be preferred a property tax. He advocated the Catholic claims to a share In the education vote, and severely criticised the present system of education. He thought that the growth of larrikinism and prostitution might be due to State education having : lessened parental control. Mr Dodson was catechised at considerable length, but ultimately a vote of confidence was passed almost unanimously.
