SUICIDE AT REEFTON.
Eebkton, Jane 24, Sigismnnd Sohalhof, a well-known stationer and tobacconist, of Broadway, Eeefton, committed suicide by hanging himself 1 this morning. At breakfast time ho kissed bis sisters and bid them good-bye, saying he was going on a journey, and remarked jocularly, as they thought, that he hoped they would give him a decent funeral. He did.aot return to dinner, and on searching his bedroom they found a letter saying that he had made a will, and left it at tho National Bank. This aroused the alarm, aud on inquiring for him at all bis usual resorts, they could learn nothing of him. The matter was then placed iu tho hands of tho police. At 2.30 p-m-, a person passing an empty shop adjoining bchulbof’s, peeped through the shutters, and saw Schulhofa body hanging against the wall. The door was burst open, and the body cut down, but life was found to be quite extinct. He had planned the deed with great deliberation. His feet nearly touched the floor, and close by was a box off which he bad stepped after adjusting a running loop round his neck. An inquest will be held to-morrow, Deceased was in good circumstances financially, and domestic troubles are supposed to have led totbea?&
