The Share Market has been quiet during the past month, and quotations remain about the same as at our previous report (10th ultimo). Messrs Charles Pownall and Co, scriveners, report the value of money unaltered during the piecoding month, the rate of interest still ruling from 7£ to 8 per cent, on broad acres. A few sums of average amount have been placed at the latter quotation, but otherwise the applications continue to be limited, and the supply of c ipital offering for mortgage investment is adequate to meet the demand. Australian rates are fully upheld, but last advices front London show the market rate there has had a decided fall, viz., from 3J to 3| per cent., which may have a tendency to shortly reduce our quotations.
