HURRICANE AND EARTHQUAKE AT SAMOA. Melbourne, May 22. Arrived,this evening—Orient steamship John Elder, from Plymouth (April 7). News has been received here that a destructive hurricane and earthquake occurred at Samoa on March 24 (sic.). Many vessels were totally wrecked, and two deaths occurred from, drowning.
