WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The usual weekly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held on Thursday; present— Mr J. G. Holdsvvorth (Chief Commissioner) and Messrs Bunny, Mason, Waring-Taylor, aud Beelham. The minutes of tbe previous meeting were read and confirmed. Schedule No. 104, of land sold since the last meeting of the Board, was read and approved. It showed that the area applied for was 792 a 2r 17p. The price realised was £IO6B 17s 6d, aud the payment received, £B4 Is Bd, The Chairman read a letter from Mr J. Jagerhorn, reporting on the occupation of section 33, Maurioeville, lately owned by B. Ransen, deceased. It was resolved that section 33, Mauriceville, be included in the next auction sale. , The Chairman reported that he had received another communication from the Secretary of the Wanganui Harbor Board, containing an amended proposal as to dealing with the unsold cash sections in the endowment block. After some discussion it wai resolved that, subject to tbe approval of the Governor, the request of the Wanganui Harbor Beard, to throw open for sale on deferred payments, at 30s per acre one, half of the unsold sections, be. complied with, and that the Harbor Board be requested to forward a schedule of the sections they desire to be so dealt with. The Chairman laid before the Board a schedule of blocks of land in the Province of Wellington, over which the Native title bad been extinguished since April, 1882, namely, Manawatu Kukulnr.iki No 2a, 2b, 20, 2d, and 2b, containing a total area of 39,849 acres. He stated that the Chief Surveyor had reported that'tbese blocks are included in the laud allocated to the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Company.
