TAWA FLAT.
(FROM OOR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) September 21. A meeting of the Porirua Jockey Club waa held at Johnsonvilla on Tuesday th« 19 h inet., for the purpose of framing the J.O. rules. After several resolutions the Wanganui J.C. rules were adopted iu a modified form, several clauses having been struck out, an 1 others adopted in litu thereof. This being all the business, the meeting adjourned. A general meeting of the Tawa Flat Cricket Club was held on Wednesday evening, Vlr F. Greet in the chair. The Secretary read the report and balance-sheet, showing that upwards of £8 had been spent in improvements to the grouuds, and that a balance of £1 7s stood to the credit of the Club. A vote of thanks to the Secretary for his valuable services for the past year was earned, and he was again elected to the office. Votes of thanks were also given to the Captain and Committee for their past services. Mr S. Greer was again elected Captain, Mr W. Rowland, custodian, and Messrs F. Taylor, W. • McGrath, J. Brown, G. Morgan, G. Thompson, J. Morgan were appointed as the Committee. It was then resolved that the season should be opened with a match, married against single, on Saturday, the 30th instant. After the usnat vote of thanks to the Chairman, the meeting adjourned.
