(united press association.) Auckland, September 21. Mr Bobbett, of the 'lhames, has purchased the racehorses Libeller and Musket—Yatterina colt from the late Mr W. Walters’ executors for 750 guineas. Dunedin, September 21. At the parade of entire horses to-day, Mr H. Goodman’s racers—Sir Modred, Somnus, Idalium, and Hilari' ns—were brought on the ground with the object of selling them by auction in order to dissolve a partner-hip, and great interest was taken in their disposal. Sir Modred was first put up, and, stepping into the ring in the pink of condition, a bid of £SOO was immediately offered. Brisk bidding speedily ran him up to £BOO, and at £Bl2 he fell to the nod of Mr George Fenwick, who was acting on behalf of a principal. 3omnus, also looking healthy and wel', but showing sigrs of having been blistered, was started at £350, and at £402 was knocked down to Mr George Dowse, who also acted for a principal. Idalium, the handsome black brother to Sir Modred, did not elicit much speculation, and he was speedily knocked down to Mr Mortimer for £65, and the same gentleman purchased Hilarious a’so for 235. “ Pegasus,” the sporting contributor of the “ Evening .-tar,” publishes a review of the past racing season to-night. Auckland brads the list of Provinces in number of meetings and amount of added money, namely, 65 meetings, and £10,727 ; ard Canterbury is next, with 37 meetings and £8865 ; Otago, 53 meet-
