London, June 23,

In the House of Commons last night the Irish Repression Bill was again under consideration in Committee of the Whole. In the course of the sitting an amendment, proposed on behalf of the Liberals, making the clausa in regard to aliens applicable to Great Britain as well as Ireland, was, after some discussion, agreed to.

In reply to an inquiry put to him last night, Mr Gladstone stated that tho question of the control of the Suez Canal would not be considered by the Conference of Ambassadors at Stamboul.
