Auction, This Day.—Laery and Campbell auction* at 11 a.m.. Nelson fruit, fresh batter, and a variety of other produce. Excursion.—The s.b. Westport is announced to make an excursion trip to Picton, leaving port at midnt- ht on Sunday. Excursion.—The B.S. Napier leaves on an excursion trip to Picton on Saturday night. Inspection.—The annual inspection of the Engineer Corps takes place this evening. Autophoae. —Mr W. Webley announces that be baa a number of these instruments for sale.
Quarter Day.—J, El. Bethune and Co., agents for the Sun Eire Insurance Office, announce that the 24th instant Is quarter-day. Public Meeting.—A public meeting to consider the recent prosecution of Chinese gamblers has been convened for to-morrow evening. Marist Brothers’ School.—The annual distribution of prizes and dramatic entertainment are announced to take place this evening. Fiuit.—Mr G. Mee, chemist, is a purchaser of a quantity of raspberries and currants. Greymouth Gas Company.—Tenders aio invited for supply and erection of gasholder. WelUngton-Mastertou Railway.—A special timetable is announced for the holidays.
Theatre Royal.—Cary’s Juvenile Pirates appear for the last time to-night.
