SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIPS. AN EXAMINATION of CANDIDATES desirous of competing for the above Scholarships will be held on THURSDAY, 23rd June next, at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, and Dunedin. These Scholarships are two (2) in number, tenable for three (3) years, dating from July 20th, 1881, are open to candidates from all parts of New Zealand, and entitle the holders to board, lodging, and instruction at the School of Agriculture, Lincoln. Candidates must be between the ages of fifteen (15) and nineteen (19). Candidates for the Scholarships shall be examined in the subjects of the Sixth Standard of Education (see regulations under Education Act, 1877). Both Scholarships will be tenable only during good behavior, and strict observance of such regulations as may from time to time be made, and on the successful passing of such periodical examinations at the school as may be determined upon by the Board of Governors. In the matter of a Local Bill, entitled “An Act to authorise the sale of Queen’s Wharf and Bonded Store, &c, at the City of Wellington, to the Wellington Harbor Board.” IUOTICE is hereby given that application 1 \ is intended to be made at the next session of the General Assembly, by the Wellington Harbor Board, with the concurrence of the Corporation of the City of Wellington, to bring in a Local Bill to authorise the sale, from the Corporation to the Board, of the Queen’s Wharf and Bonded Store, at the City of Wellington, together with the Weighbridge on Custom House-quay, and the hulk “ Omega,” and all rolling stock, plant, machinery, and appliances used in or about the wharf, store, weighbridge, and hulk. It is intended to provide for—(1.) The payment of the purchase money as follows :—The sum of £25,000 is to be paid within three calendar months after the passing of the Act, and the balance, £39,000, on the 23th February, 1907, with interest at six pounds per centum per annum in the meantime. (2.) The vesting in the Board, on payment of the said sum of £25,000, of the property sold. (3.) The leasing by the Corporation to the Board, for any term not exceeding 42 years, of the land upon which said weighbridge and the office used therewith are situated. (4.) The securing payment of the said balance of £39,000 and interest by a charge upon the revenues of the Board. (5.) The vesting in the Board cf the like rights over any part of the harbor abutting on public streets and places in the City, which the Board now has in respect of any other part of the said harbor, with power to construct harbor works. But the rights of the Corporation under the Te Aro Reclamation Act, 1379, are not to be prejudiced. Dated at Wellington, this eighteenth day of May, 1881.
