NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership existing between the undersigned, THOMAS KENNEDY MACDONALD and PKRCTVAL JOHNSTON, trading in the business of Land Auctioneers and Estate Agents, in the City of Wellington, as a firm under the stylo of “T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co., was this day dissolved by mutual consent, and that in future the said business will be carried on by THOMAS KENNEDY MACDONALD alone, under the style of “T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co.” as heretofore. Mr. Percival Johnston will act as Liquidator of the business of the firm up to this date, having full power to deal with all matters relating to the winding up of the said partnership. I have to request that all accounts against the late partnership as above, either for open accounts or bills current, be rendered to me in detail on or before the 30th June instant. All debts due to the said partnership must be paid to me on or before the said 30th day of June instant, otherwise they will be placed in the hands of my solicitor for collection. Referring to the above announcement, Mr. Macdonald, in thanking the friends and clients of the firm for their past liberal support, begs to state that in compliance with numerous requests he has decided to add to the Land auction business the sale by auction of General Merchandise, Furniture, Stock, Produce, &c., and that he hopes to bring to bear upon these branches of tho business the same energy and success that has so long characterised the land sales of his firm. The following special features will characterise the General Auction business; — Ist. It will be a commission business, pure and simple ; no goods being sold on personal account. 2nd. All sold goods unoleared within 24 hours of sale, will be re-sold the day after. 3rd. All auction proceeds will be banked direct to a trust account, thereby giving perfect security to vendors. 4th. Accoi nt sales will be rendered, and proceeds handed to vendors within four days from day of each sale. A careful adherence to the above rules, coupled with moderate charges, will doubtless be appreciated by the mercantile and general public, and supply a want long felt. T. In anticipation of the difficulty which will probably be experienced by visitors to the ensuing Exhibition, parties who contemplate visiting the Metropolis at that time are advised to communicate at once with Messrs. Brydges & Go., who will secure and guarantee to supply their clients with the accommodation required on receipt of the following information, viz.: Date and duration of intended visit ; number and description of persona to be provided for, i.e., extent and class of accommodation required ; and on receipt of this information, accompanied with the fee of £l, immediate arrangements will be made and submitted for approval, and a contract entered into accordingly, without further charge being made for the transaction of the business by this office.

The City Council of Christchurch are prepared to receive DESIGNS for a TOWN HALL and MUNICIPAL OFFICES in accordance with the Conditions and Plan of Site deposited at the Office of, the Town Clerk at Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Hokitika, Oamaru, Timarn, Napier, Wanganui, Invercargill, and Christchurch. Premiums offered are £IOO for the Best Design, and £SO for the second. Designs, addressed to the Town Clerk, are to be sent to the Town Clerk’s Office, Christchurch, by Noon of the 11th July, 1879. .
