TO CORRESPONDENTS.
“ A Man ” received. Our correspondent expresses in caustia language his Indignation at tho conrse of examination followed by counsel for prisoner In one of the eases tried by the Supreme Court yesterday. If we wet* to publish the letter we should at once hav* to defend a libel action, and that would be unpleasant, especially seeing that the questions asked are not on record, and could not therefore be subjected to a test In order to ascertain whether the counsel’s conduct is open t* the imputation made. The privileges of the Bar are great, and though wo empathise with our correspondent, wo must decline the responsibility the publication of his letter would east upon us.
