FAMILY QUARRELS.
John Maher, on warrant, was charged with assaulting his wife. Prisoner asked for a remand on the plea of getting a separation from his wife! His Worship adjourned the case until Thursday, and ordered the prisoner to enter into his own recognisance of £2O to keep the peace. CIVIL CASES. Judgments for plaintiffs for the amounts claimed and costs were given in the following cases :—H. Somerville v. Thomas Evans— Claim, £3 15s. 6cl. ; J. Madden v. J. Livingstone—Claim, £6 ; J. E. Nathan v. H. Millloch—Claim, £44 19s. sd. ; R Port v. E. W. Mills—Claim, £IOO, for a dishonored promissory note which had been drawn by Collie, Scott, and Wilkinson, contractors, and for which the defendant had become responsible by attaching his signature to it.—J. M. Cleland v. S. H. Birch—Claim, £l6 16a.; judgment for plaintiff for £l4 10s. and costs. George Cloko v. James Peters Claim, £lO 3s. 6d, judgment summons, Hefemlant was ordered to pay 10a, a week, or in default two months* imprisonment.
