COMMERCIAL.

There has been only a moderate amount of business in the import trade during the past week, with no Improvement in quotations, nor do we see much prospect of better prices so long as importations continue large, and so unregulated by the demand. Heonessy's cast* brandy moves off at improved rates, and is now quoted at 31s per case, bulk of the same brand being exceedingly light in stock, and worth Os Od to 10s per gallon ; Denis Mounie’s brandy Is quoted at 30% and is in improved demand. Butter is in better demand for prime cure in kegs, and small lots have been qul ted at to 10,jd per lb ; cheese is overstocked at Old to 7d per lb; flour, the market for Southern flout shows no improvement, and quotUlons would leave a nominal profit on the price at port of shipment; we quote best brands of Oamaru at £ll to to £ll 10s per ton, while at auct on barely £lO 15s to £ll 5s could be obtained.
