TO THE EDITOR OB* THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —The mountain has been in labor, and a very, small mouse is indeed the result. After all the stump oratory and great promises, this wretched tin-pot tariff is the result. Where, sir, are all the promises of deliverance from our excessive ad valorem duties, that tax even the cases the goods are packed in 11 per cent,, the duty in most cases exceeding the value of the package .• Call this a poor man’s tariff ! Why, all can see its a sham—nothing a pound on money and a penny a pound on jam.—l am, &c., O.K,
