VALUABLE FREEHOLD FARM, Containing ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE ACRES, SITUATED IN FOXTON, (Within one mile of the Post Office), Being part ot Rural Section No. 453, in the TOWNSHIP OP FOXTON. MR. ERNEST S. THYNNE has been instructed by Mr. Richard Taylor to offer the above valuable farm by public auction, at his saleroom. Fox ton, on Thursday, the 11th April, without reserve. The property is partly rich swamp land, easily drainable, and partly old Manuka land. About twenty acres are sown down in English grasses. There is a small cottage on the land. The property is bounded on one side by land the property of J. Gower, Esq.; and land the opposite side of the road has been sold in an unimproved state, at prices ranging from £4 10s. to £6 10s. an acre. Thera is a mortgage on the property of £2OO, with an unexpired term of nearly two years to run. This offers an admirable opportunity to a settler with small means. The balance of purchase-money over the mortgage may be paid in cash; or one-fourth cash, the balance in approved endorsed acceptances, in equal sums," at three and six months, with bank rate of interest added. The property must be sold, therefore the highest bidder will obtain it. THURSDAY, 9th MAY. IMPORTANT SALE OF MINING PROPERTY AND PLANT. By Order of the Liquidators of the Para Para Iron and Coal Company (Limited). AUCTION ON THURSDAY, 9th MAY, At 12 o’clock, On the Company’s Property, Collingwood. THE WHOLE of the PROPERTY and PLANT, viz.— Lot 1. Lease from the Crown of all the coal in 920 acres of land, for 21 years, from Ist day of January, 1870, at a royalty of 2 per cent., which shall not be less than £l6 a year. This is the company’s coalmine, and the seams have been driven into in several places. There are over 800 ft. of iron tramway in the drives, and | from thence there is an iron tramway about two miles long to the wharf. Part of the land over which this goes is the company’s freehold, the rest has been held under a lease at a peppercorn rent. Also, 2J acres and 13 sections of the township of Ferntown, all freehold, on which are six cottages, manager’s house, stables, storehouses, a Fooley's 5-ton weighbridge, with house, and the wharf, with coal bunkers. This lot will include all the plant on the above-described sections, which is everything necessary for working the coalmine. Lot 2. 150 acres freehold, situated about a mile from the wharf above-mentioned. On it are two cottages and sheds, brick kiln, about 80,000 bricks, wharf, and a quantity of plant. Lot 3. Two 40-ton barges and one 10-ton punt, lying near the company’s wharf. They were built in Nelson, and have been but little used, and will be sold separately. Conditions of sale, and catalogues containing fuller particulars, can be had from the Liquidators, or from the Manager of the mine, who will show the property to any intending purchaser. For the convenience of intending purchasers, the steamer Lady Barkly will leave Nelson on the evening of May 6, arriving at Collingwood next morning, and returning on May 11th, thus giving two clear days for examining the various lots before the sale.
