MR. HALL AT THE THEATRE ROYAL.
Mr, Hall, the celebrated - comedian;, will make his first appearance at the Theatre.-Royal this evening, assisted by Mrs. Hall, one of'the the most clever and pleasing actresses that ever visited this colony, and the stock company, under engagement, to the present lessees of the theatre.. “Rose Michel,” a drama adopted from the French specially for Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hall Jby Mr. G. F. Howe, is the piece; with which the new season opens. Notices of the.drama speak of it in terms of, the highest favor, 1 and as it never has been produced here before it has.at least theimerit of novelty; There are seventeen characters in. the piece, Mr. and Mrs. Hall taking' the -parts of Pierre Mhchel and Rose !Michel respectively. Many years, ago on the Thame®, goldfield, in the height of its prosperity, and in Auckland at about the same time, Mr. Hall was very popular, and after leaving the province he met with good receptions wherever he went, and was generally accepted as .being an actor of the very highest order,in the particular line of business in which he appears to the greatest advantage. Mr. Hall's popularity is not confined to the colonies, but. extends the Continent of America and the large at Home, as frequent notices in the papers in different parts of this colony have long since shown. We expect to see a crowded house atthe Theatre Royal
