Government Land Sales. >R O VIN C E OF WELLINGTON. EXTENSIVE AND IMPORTANT SALE OF 12,000 ACRES OF CROWN LANDS. NOTICE is hereby given, that there will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Crown'Lauds Office, Provincial Government Buildings, Wellington, on TUESDAY, 21st SEPTEMBER, At 12 o’clock noon, The following Valuable Lands, viz.: — TOWNSHIP OF PALMERSTON. Town section No. 601, containing 3 roods 16 perches. Upset price, £25. TOWN OF WANGANUI. Valuable town section in St. Hill-street ; J acre. Upset price, £6O. TUKAPU DISTRICT. 1 rural section; contents, HI acres. Upset price, £57. HOROKIWI ROAD DISTRICT. 4 sections, ranging from 89 to 148 acres each. Upset prices, £44 to £74 each. • HUTT DISTRICT. COUNTRY BETWEEN MUNGAROA AND WAIKANAE. 58 sections, making an aggregate of about 11,000 acres, varying in size from 154 to 228 acres each. Upset price, 10s. per acre. These last named sections consist chiefly of good timbered land, the greater portion of the bush, including some patches of totara, being well adapted for sawing purposes. The land, undulates into hills and valleys, and there are' several small flats with excellent soil in the vicinity of the river. The deviation of the West Coast road lino, for which a sum of £4OOO has been voted by the Provincial Council, will open up this land. In anticipation of the construction of this road, for which the bush is now being fallen, a bridle-track" will be formed at once. This land will acquire a high value when the road line in question has been completed. Lithographed maps of the 58 sections on the deviation of the West Coast road line, showing their numbers, contents, &c. ; also Gazettes with schedule of prices, can be obtained at the Crown Lands Office, Provincial Government Buildings. A SALE by public auction of suburban sections, Town of Carlyle, .and of rural allotments in the Okotuku District, Provinces of Wellington and Taranaki, will take place at the courthouse, Patea, on Thursday, the 16th September next, at 12 o’clock noon. Attention is specially called to the suburban sections on the east bank of the Patea river, which vary from 5 to 72 acres in area, and are conveniently situated on the main line of road, and near the Patea bridge. From the excellence of the soil and their favorable position for commercial purposes, they afford combined advantages of an exceptional character for settlement and the investment of capital. The rural allotments in the Okotuku District comprise sections of open land near the sea coast, between the Whenuakura river and the Hawke’s Bay military settlement, and also a number of bush sections, lightly timbered and interspersed with patches of open land in the interior of the district between the Whenuakura river and the Momahaki stream. These vary considerably in value, and are priced accordingly. The areas and upset prices have been published in the New Zealand Gazette, of the 28th July, and lithographed plans are being prepared, and will be distributed to intending purchasers on application. Plans may be inspected at the Office of the Secretary for Crown Lands, Wellington, and at the Survey Office, Patea. Regulations for the sale of the land may be seen in the New Zealand Gazette of the Ist of June, 1871, and all required information obtained at this office. C. A. A SERIES of LAND SALES is being held in the PROVINCE of TARANAKI under the Waste Lands Board of the province, the Lands offered being -Town and Rural Allotments, the latter varying in area from 20 to 320 acres, and the conditions of sale being by DEFERRED PAYMENTS extended over Ten Years,- by Auction, for CASH; and by FREE SELECTION for CASH. The district is traversed by the Waitara-Wanganui Railway, now in course of construction, and which is expected to be completed as far ns Inglewood—the Township at the commencement of the district —in about eighteen months. The land is well adapted to working settlers of small capital, as it is easily accessible, has abundance of timber for building, fencing, fuel, and shelter; never-failing streams of water, and a very productive soil. • .A good main road traverses the district so far as it is yet open for purchase, and the District Roads will also bo opened up by the Provincial Government, so as to make each allotment accessible from the main line of railway.
