A QUESTION of boundary, it appears, has arisen between Victoria and South Australia, and as the best way of settling the matter, it is to be referred for decision to the Privy Council. It was in that manner that the question as to the ownership of Pental Island, in the Eiver Murray, claimed both by Victoria and New South Wales, was decided some years ago in favor of the former. South Australia asks a strip of territory, about two miles more or less in width, hitherto supposed to belong to Victoria, but now claimed by the neighboring colony, on the grounds that the 141st parallel of longitude has been erroneously laid down on the maps. In this disputed territory the thriving township of Apsley has been built.
