Benjamin Smith anh Co., to offer for sale, by PUBLIC AUCTION, at his rooms, Lambton-quay, on Tuesday, the 15th of December, at 2 o’clock, that magnificent property in the Wairarapa district, known as the BELVEDERE SAW AND FLOUR MILLS. This valuable estate is situate at the Taratahi, Wairarapa, a few miles from Greytown, and about sixty miles from Wellington. The PROPOSED LINE OF RAILWAY. Is laid off within about fifteen chains of the Mills, and 'it is anticipated that a Station will Ire placed in close proximity. At present there is a good metalled road up to the Mills. The Freehold consists of 1160 Acres of splendid Totara bush, with a fair sprinkling of pines ; it is allowed by competent judges to be THE FINEST TOTARA BUSH in the Wairarapa, and is estimated to contain sufficient timber to keep the present mill in work for a QUARTER OF A CENTURY, cutting from nine to ten thousand feet per day. The land when cleared is admirably adapted for agricultural purposes. The Saw Mill is one of the most complete in the province, worked by engines combining 40 horse-power. The Flour Mill is worked by water-power, and is furnished with machinery of the most approved description. Both mills are in full working order. The buildings on the land, in addition to the mill houses, comprise blacksmith’g shop, two comfortable dwelling-houses, six cottages for workmen, five-stalled stable, &C., &c. Taking into consideration the great and increasing demand for Totara in this and the other Provinces, and the facilities which will shortly be available for transporting it to Wellington by rail at a moderate charge, the auctioneer can confidently recommend this property to the attention of capitalists as one that will most surely realise an ample return for amount invested. TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, 22nd and 23rd December, 1874. IMPORTANT SALE OP 15,000 ACRES OF LAND IN THE MANCHESTER BLOCK, Manawatu. Messrs, bethune & hunter have received instructions to sell by public auction, at their Sale-room, Custom-house quay, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 22nd and 23rd December, commencing each day at 11 o’clock in the forenoon. 15,000 acres of land, divided into town, suburban, and country sections, being a portion of the block pur- ■ chased by the Hon. Colonel Feeding for colonisation by the Emigrant and Colonists Aid Corporation. The land to be offered for sale includes most of the unoccupied allotments in the township of Feilding and the adjoining suburban and rural sections. The sections have all been surveyed, most of the road lines are cleared, and are now in course of formation. There are upwards of 1000 people already settled in and about the township of Feilding, and the greater part of the land offered for sale abuts upon the main line of railway now in course of construction from Wanganui to Wellington, Napier, and Foxton. The land is level, rich, and well watered, partly open and partly bush. Many of the sections are covered with valuable totara, matai, red and yellow pine timber, and as the railway to the Port of Foxton from Feilding will be completed within twelve months, and the line to Wanganui is also being rapidly proceeded withj this sale offers special inducements to aaw-miil owners and persons engaged in the timber trade. Lithographed plans of the sections, and schedules of upset prices, may he had at a cost of two shillings each. Title, Crown Grant, or Land Transfer Certificate. Terms of payment—Ten per cent, in cash on the fall of the hammer, and the balance in cash within one month from the day of sale.
