WELLINGTON WESLEYAN FINANCIAL DISTRICT MEETING.

Friday, November 20. Present :—Revs. W. Morley (chairman), J. Aldred, J. B. Richardson, J. Daw, J. S. Smalley, and J. J. Lewis, and Messrs. Knight, Moxham, Lewis, and Wrigley. Mr. Knight and the Rev. J. Law offered prayer. It was resolved that all building properties in the district should be insured. The meeting recommended Conference to grant permission to build a schoolroom at Thorndon, and a church in each of the followfng places ; —The Hutt, Featherston, and Napier. The meeting declined to endorse the application to sell land at Featherston, but advised the trustees to avail themselves of the provisions in tKe model deed for leasing it. The application for permission to sell three sections at Napier was recommened to Conference, on condition that out of the proceeds £2OO be ’reserved towards purchasing a parsonage site. DISTRICT FINANCE.

The following were nominated members of the connexional committee :—Messrs. Lewis, Clark, Moxham, Wrigley, Knight, and Gundy. 'The reports of the educational reserve and day school committees were read and adopted. The meeting elected the Rev. J. B. Richardson as representative to accompany the chairman _to Conference. The meeting supported invitation given by the quarterly meeting to the Conference of 1876 to hold its sittings in Wellington. The business of the meeting has been harmoniously and expeditiously despatched. Daily public religious services have been held at six in the morning and 7.30 in the evening. The official sermon was preached on Thursday evening by the chairman, after which the sacrament was administered.
