[Press Telegraph Agency.] Auckland, Thursday. The steamer Golden Crown has been sold to a Sydney company, but returned to port after leaving tho Bay of Islands for Sydney, a leak having been discovered near the sternpost. She was making three inches of water hourly. It is understood that a condition of purchase required the delivery of tho steamer in Sydney by the 20th instant. 7 p.m. The leakage of tho p.s. Golden Crown was caused by loading the steamer much below her usual water-line. She will be caulked and sent to sea again on Saturday. George Graham, an old colonist, and father of Walter Graham, grocer, accidentally fell down a well to-day and was drowned. Nawer, Thursday. At tho Resident Magistrate’s Court, to-day, tho chief mate and nine of the crew of tho Rosalia were charged by Captain Veal with refusing to proceed to sea with the vessel. The ground of refusal was tho alleged unseaworthiness of the ship. Captain Eairchild, of tho Luna, deposed that in his opinion the Rosalia was seaworthy, or at all events sufficiently bo to proceed to Dunedin. Tho charge was found proved, and the mate, W. Reid, was sentenced to imprisonment for twelve weeks, and tho rest of tho crow to lesser periods, with hard labor. The Rosalia will, most likely, take a fresh crew, and proceed for Dunedin immediately.

There was an immense attendance of people. There were not fewer than 224 exhibits of sheep, 94 of cattle, 114 horses, 15 pigs, 19 head of poultry, 14 dogs, 47 agricultural implements, 27 of dairy produce, and 51 of articles of local manufacture. The show of sheep, cattle, horses, and implements, was splendid as regards quality. The competition was close in every class. Messrs. Sutton Brothers, of Southland, took the Champion Medal for Lincoln rams. ;
