IMPORTANT SALE OF FREEHOLD AT TIMARU, IN THE PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY. MR. JOHN KING has been favored with instructions from Captain Tosswill to sell by public auction at his sale rooms, Timaru, on Thursday, 29th October, 1874, his FREEHOLD ESTATE of CLAREMONT, which comprises about 2197 acres of the best agricultural and pastoral land in the district, and situated within eight miles of the town of Timaru, from which it is accessible by three direct and good roads. The improvements consist of a well-built eight-roomed dwelling-house, with all necessary offices, cottage, stable, woolsbed and yards, cowshed and yards, and other necessary outbuildings. The .land is fenced, and subdivided into twelve paddocks, 450 acres under first wheat crop (which crop is not for sale) 130 acres sown down to English grass, of which twenty acres are also in oats 147 acres let for one crop 200 let for breaking up, and the remainder is in Native grass, which grows richly on the estate. There are also a few acres of bush land ; there is permanent water in each paddock ; all the buildings and fences are new and of tho best description. This valuable property is capable of being divided into two or more farms, with an equal division of natural advantages.
