THE RAINFALL IN WELLINGTON
From January to May the fall was under the average, but from June to the end of September the quantity was, as will be seen, unusually large. The fall for this year to 30th September already reaches 45'837 inches, nearly all occurring in the last four months ; and when we consider that the annual average for Wellington is only 46 inches, it will be seen that we have had rather more than our allowance. It is worth notice that the fall for any twenty-four hours during the above period lias never exceeded two inches, which was recorded on the 11th June ; the number of wet days, however, has been very great : Inches.
