These rams have been bred by E. Meredith, Esq., of Eiversdalo, Wharcama, and can be confidently recommended to breeders who wish to improve their flocks,' combining as they do. the characteristics of the Lincoln with the well-known good qualities of the Leicester. JOHN KING has been favored with instructions from Captain Tosswill to sell by public auction at his sale rooms, Timaru, on Thursday, 29th October, 1874, his FREEHOLD ESTATE of CLAREMONT, which comprises about 2197 acres of the best agricultural and pastoral land iu the district, and situated within eight miles of the.town of Timaru, from ■ which it is accessible by three direct and good roads. The improvements consist of a well-built eight-roomed dwelling-house, with all necessary offices, cottage, stable, woolshed and yards, cowshed and yards, and other necessary outbuildings. Tire land is fenced, and subdivided into twelve paddocks. 450 acres under first wheat crop (which crop is not for sale) 130 acres sown dpwrr to English grass, of which tweity acres are also in oats 147 acres let for one crop 200 Ist for breaking up, and the remainder is in Native grass, which grows richly on the estate. TENDERS FOR WORKS, PLANT, ETC., FOR WATER SUPPLY.’ The City Council of Auckland are prepared to receive TENDERS for the whole of the Plant and Works connected and requisite for a WATER SUPPLY for the CITY, comprising about —Three and one quarter miles of Supply Mains, and fourteen and three quarter miles of Pipes for City Reticulation Works, Sluice Valves, Hydrants, two High-pressure Compound Beam Engines, with Double-acting Pumps, four Boilers, Covered Reservoirs, Engineer and Keeper’s Houses, together with all necessary Works connected thereuntil. Drawings may be inspected, tracings and specification, forms of tender, and general conditions obtained, on and after FRIDAY, the 23rd day of October, 1874, by payment of Three Guineas, on application at the City Council Chambers, Queen-street, or at the Town' Clerk’s Offices, in Melbourne, Sydney, Dunedin, Wellington, and Christchurch. Issued under Act of General Assembly, dated 21st October, 1872. nPHE BANK OE AUSTRALASIA_ has X been instructed, by the Wanganui Borough Corporation to invite tenders for the whole or any portion of debentures, x-epresentirg Thirty thousand pounds, and bearing interest at six per cent., payable half-yearly. i The debentures will be payable in twenty years, and will be dated Ist November, 1874. They will be for (£100) one hundred pounds each, and the coupons attached for each halfyear’s interest will bo made payable free of exchange at any office of the Bank of Australasia in New Zealand. A minimum price will be fixed before the tenders are opened. Tenders in accordance with the annexed form will be received by the Bank of Australasia at Wanganui, up to NOON of the 31st day of OCTOBER, 1874, and must be addressed “ Tender for Wanganui Borough Corporation Loan.” Payment will bo required as follows : Five per cent., on amount applied for, to accompany tender, fifty per cent., on amount allotted, on or before the 15th day of November, 1874 ; fifty per cent, on amount allotted on or before the 15th day of December, 1874.
